City : Vila Seca, Spain
Date : 2024 - 2026
IAMPIÔ holds an ongoing artist residency at the Fundació Joan Ill in Vila Seca, Spain, which she returns to several times a year.
The foundation places vast spaces and the surrounding natural landscape entirely at her disposal, offering a creative environment: open, unhurried, and carrying a quiet and particular energy she draws on directly in her work.
The residency is shaped by genuine dialogue. Cécilia Lobel and Joan Ill accompany IAMPIÔ as mentors and interlocutors, guiding her practice, and sharing their own experiences.
From this place, two forms of creation have emerged most strongly. The first is painting and poetry: phrases and poems composed on location, born from the atmosphere of the place and the thoughts it generates, which IAMPIÔ then transcribes onto enormous banners. The second is a series of wood sculptures called Les Guerriers (Warriors): pieces of wood collected directly from the natural surroundings of the foundation, painted without artifice, kept entirely raw.
The Fundació Joan Ill holds a unique creative energy. It channels an entire dimension of her collections and her ongoing exploration.
